Thanks to each and every one of you for the enthusiastic birthday greeting. Friends drove us in to the city to visit the new American Wing at the Metropolitan Museum. While there we discovered an exhibit of botanical drawings by Ellsworth Kelly. I had never been aware of this aspect of his art. I found them interesting and somehow moving in their spareness. There is a class of Botanical Drawing held at Lasdon Park & Arboretum where my garden club meets. They do beautiful work, but quite conventional.
