I have been feeding them for years. Have a feeder in the front and in the back yard, because they tend to be territorial, and many times will chase other hummers away. Making your own sugar syrup is easy and a lot cheaper than buying the commercial stuff.

Today I saw hummingbirds in my garden for the first time in twenty years. I was ecstatic! I've always had plants to attract them, but this year it seems to be the Browallia that do the trick. They flit from flower to flower and leave every other species in the garden untouched. Anyhow, I had to share.
