They will bloom anywhere when they are ready. My mother had a habit of
storing stuff to deal with on her enclosed porch by the staircase. One
day noticed a large bloom coming out of the pile of junk..... can't
believe it bloomed without any care or water. Of course I unburied the
pot and brought it back into the house... then the cat knocked it over
and broke the flower stalk... should have left it where it was.
