It used to be said you needed running water to grow wasabi. It still produces a superior Asian horseradish, I think, but they've now discovered you can grow Chinese wasabi on land. Margaret L

You must be thinking of watercress.  Horseradish grows like a weed in my
garden, even in drought years.  Auralie
