Yes, Pam, this is one of them.  My dad has lost most of his sight with the 
disease and my brother just younger than I also has it.  At the present there 
is no medical intervention but I do take an eye antioxidant which includes 
Lutein.  My dr says there is no scientific proven benefits but there is a 
theory that this may help.  My brother is in Calif and his dr is telling him 
the samething.
