I think Chinese cuisine put the civet cat, which is not a cat, at risk. And wasn't the consumption of civet blamed for the SARS outbreak?

Agreed! And I thought the musk used was from civet cats and the demand for it
put them at risk of becoming extinct. I've always been a fan of patchouli
myself. :-)
