You know lots of people do it in bits and pieces.  I've never been able to do 
the whole thing, but have spent several day hikes on various parts of it.  I 
know one person who worked at the thing for about six years before he managed 
to complete it from end to end.  Don't deprive yourself of the opportunity to 
enjoy some part of it just because you can't do the whole thing at one  clip.
