Well, she isn't lactose intollerant....cause she likes it with cereal in the morning and cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. She just doesn't like the taste of milk. Man....I grew up with farm-fresh dairy milk....good stuff. And we buy it from a local dairy and it's great. I can remember skimming the cream off the top of the big ole jar...and putting it in an empty jar with salt etc. and shaking it till it turned to butter. Yummy stuff.

Most folks of northern European heritage can drink milk throughout their lives, but the vast majority of the human population cannot tolerate milk after the age of 5...they lose the ability to digest milk sugar, lactose. The result? Very uncomfortable cramping and diarrhea.

Hmmm, must be the "Kraut" in me......my mother is German....but I just LOVE sauerkraut. And on my father's side...Scotch....so I love cooked cabbage too....and coleslaw. I just pretty much love cabbage. I cook it all the time...kids love it too...except for Robert's youngest, who is a very picky eater. She doesn't even drink milk.....now that's just WRONG. I can't imagine life without THAT!!! So I buy her the orange juice with vitamin C and D in it.
