Re: Re: link to Tricia's pictures.

I think it might eventually get too large... after my time here probably... but I would love to find another place to put one. I have started putting more and more shade plants under the one pine(there is a grouping of 3) that is limbed up. If I can find a good buy on one this winter I could put it under the pine tree where I have put the Aucuba's.
Thank you for your ideas it opens up so many more possibilities than I had on my own.

They really are picky things. If you will have to walk by it or brush up
against it, you'll get stabbed. Maybe one of the smaller, shade loving
viburnums would be better??

Thank you Donna. I love the idea of the Leatherleaf Mahonia but I too think
it might get a little too stickery.

I got this message from Tricia:

This is the snowball that I want to replace. The first picture is a close
up, the 2nd is further out and then even further out so that you can see
how
much room and shade I will have. I am thinking the Leatherleaf Mahonia is
a
good idea but a little worried about the leaves being so pokey... it could
be hard to get by some day!

What a wonderful gardening setting you have :) But I think the thorns are
you going to get you there in a few years.
