10F here at not quite 6 am. Probably a bit less "officially". Roads not bad last night & no thaw or precipitation to add ice overnight, so my short commute should be OK. Take care if you have to drive on the ice. Granddaughter is enjoying the few inches of snow here. I'm staying out of it as much as I can.

Well this morning the roads have a white sheen of salt but at least I didn't slid thru some intersection....and the wind died down too!..... although bynoon it is supposed to start snowing here and they are predicting about 6 inches by tomorrow morning.... sigh. Turned around and came home. Not worth it to me. Just emailed theboss. Wayne's wife just called and said he isn't gonna make it either. It's an ice skating rink out there. UGH. Woke up this morning to ice covering everything...and slid my way to work again.... I thoughttheuse of salt for ice/snow had been illegal for decades?? I know inGermanyit was made illegal to use salt on the roads and sidewalks 20+ years ago, dueto the harm to the environment, dog's feet, etc. Noreen zone 9 Texas Gulf Coast In a message dated 12/15/2008 10:43:39 AM Central Standard Time, islandjim1@comcast.net writes: When I was getting my first cup of coffee this AM, I looked out the back door to see about 3 inches of snow on the table on the deck. No snow plows here, and Oregon is too green to salt, so we'll probably see it laying around for a while. Right now the sun's out, butit'sonly 23 degrees, so not much chance it will melt anytime soon. **************Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and favorite sites in one place.
