that's my thought, melody. someone figured out how to make a buck predicting the obvious. and because it involves a furry animal, it has been embraced by the citizenry, albeit a long time ago.

Here, last winter was mild. This winter has been very cold and the most
snow we've seen in years, although still not really that much. At least
it was finally warm enough for me to work in the garage this weekend. I
took a bunch of cuttings; seemed like a good time to get them started.
