RE: crummy weather here< palms
We wandered around Foster Botanical garden while on Oahu and they have a
nice selection of palms amounst other things. They also had some variety of
Clerodendrum that was a tree with compound flowers that smelled like lilacs
and the butterflies loved.

not cold, exactly, but not warm. overcast for sure. mostly just crummy.
i've spent most of the day sorting, editing, and filing photographs of my
plants. took a few pictures to add to the mass [including the blooming
rosemary and the geraniums that, i suspect, kitty refers to as 'annual'].
filed my income tax. checked the licuala palm to make sure it was still
with me. and re-affirmed my resolve to beat back the jungle, rip out a lot
of stuff, and devote more space to palms.
i have queens, areceas, bismarckias, pygmy dates, and washingtonias in pots
that need to go into the ground. i want a chamaedorea costariciana to add
to the mix.
and that's pretty much how it is [and has been] in southwest florida today.
