Does, indeed.  It's a hoot (the name, not the taxes) when you stop
and really think about it.  Seems like somebody trying to be so very
properly PC and the committee (I just KNOW it had to be a committee)
bought into it hook, line and sinker.  Now, they have all their
paperwork with that name on it, so you guys in CA are just stuck with
it forevermore.  Bet there are a lot of confused people who just
moved there and try to look up that government department in the
phone book.  Nobody in their right mind would ever look for 'tax
department' under that name:-)
