nice pictures, theresa. david said he thought the red-flowed tree was a royal poinciana, and i think that's probably right, although i'm used to seeing them with a lot more foliage when they're in bloom.

at first i though the heliconia was a lobster claw, but changed my mind. the coloring is right but the flowers aren't fat enough.

the purple [and whiteish] flower, i'm reasonably certain, is a purple crinum lily; they are quite common here. most of the others, however, i have not seen before.
