Marge, actually East Texas is much more acidic, being the piney woods area,
etc. than what Pam is talking about. She'd be better off looking at lists of
plants that do well in Austin, Central Tx, which is well known for being almost
completely situated on limestone. I'm more east of where Pam is, but still
not east enough to grow plants that grow in East Tx.

Well, Pam, considering that my soil is on the acid side, I'm no real
authority on plants for alkaline soil, but a bit of a search lists
the following (several of which do just fine in my garden as well),
plus I found a web site for native east Texas plants (or plants that
do well in E. TX): http://snipurl.com/4f90
