Re: Re: Down or out

A problem I'm having in just the last 3 days is that spam is trickling in.
I'd only had 2 spam messages in 10 months with comcast and those may have
been related to a site I visited. Then a few weeks ago I visited a couple
of job websites. I received two spamish messages indicating these
headhunters types had found my jobsearch there and would be happy to help
me../yeah, sure... But again, I understand those. But now since this virus
mess I've gotten several pushing mortgages and today, one of theose obvious
fake messages titled "Re: [something] Wanna know what I heard?" that hopes
you'll open it because it might be close to something you'd be expecting.

I haven't been able to configure my home Outlook Express the way I had it at
work - so that the read message window isn't available. Consequently I
can't click on the message to delete it because it would automatically open.
The way I had it at work prevents opening a message that may have a virus.
So I have been skipping around the bad message and then deleting it within a
bunch of messages.

I sure hope it doesn't get worse. I've been relatively spam-free since I
dumped aol.
