I have saved all issues since I joined in 1990, but that one must have gotten "lost in the mail"... hence the sarcasm... If you could send me a copy of the article, I would be most appreciative.

Donna,
Curcumas have a natural dormant period - lift and store dry or just
barely
damp over winter, about 55 F. Some Curcumas are easily rotted if damp
during dormancy. If you want something to bring in as a house plant
get
anevergreen ginger - Hedychium, Alpinia, most Costus, and some Zingibers. Kitty ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna" To: Sent: Sunday, February 06, 2005 9:37 AM Subject: RE: [CHAT] gingers....Cathy!But Cathy-- what I am asking is -can you overwinter them in a house
setting?-- I liked the foliage and would be great as a backdrop in a
container type setting. Just don't want to pay that type price for a
one
season item.
Donna
I second that! Have tried some and have never gotten them to bloom for me, even with the most diligent overwintering. Iwould never get any of them to flower here....
