 The remarks below really angered me. Lets not even get into the stupid
stereotype being perpetuated (maybe the fact I am in NYC has something to do
with why I hate police bashing)....but I suggest you go to google and do a
search on brush/forest fires and their causes. You'll find a leading cause
is from cigarrettes being tossed out of passing cars. THAT's why it's
against the law. The officer was merely doing his job.  Last I checked, cars
are equipped with ashtrays. Use them. Honestly, on a list that is supposed
to be made up of gardeners who love plants and nature, I am very very
surprised at the below attitude toward littering. It's not exactly a
shocking crime, but the consquences can be very very serious.
