was here and just pointed out--as he was chowing down--that the loquats are beginning to fruit. Bumper crop, it looks like this year. Lots of loquat cobblers, pies, and out-of-hand treats in the next 4 or 5 weeks. The interesting thing is some of the seedlings are producing larger fruit this year than the grafted variety did last year. Don't know what that means yet; our grafted variety normally runs 3 to 4 weeks behind our seedlings. All of them are still loaded with flower buds that have not opened.
