Yes, you should, Kitty.  It's smart and goes dormant in mid summer
and then comes back the next spring.  P. denticulata is one I've only
had hang on for a while, even in my damp garden where the candelabras
thrive to the point of weediness...they died in droves in the regular
border, but if you can give them a bit of sog, they will grow huge
and happy and seed all over.
