For fleas I use the one-time six-month shot which I find better than the
back of the head stuff. It would be great if they could incorporate
heartworm in that, but I doubt that's possible.
My oldest cat, Jack, vomits a lot, but not blood, just food. Still, when
I take him in on Friday for his annual shots I think I'll get him tested
for heartworm too. Besides, I'm getting really tired of cleaning up the
messes. The other 3 seem fine. It can get pretty expensive when you
start multiplying all these things times 5! Thnaks Pam, for your well
