If you watched it, you know that this isn't our usual weather... today, my 3
to 4 inches of snow turned out to be 8 plus... sigh. It is that light snow
that blows everywhere. The roads where a nightmare getting home.... they
didn't bother to salt since it is too cold to work.... so the streets that
were plowed where sheets of ice....All day there have been bad accidents- they
closed down a few of the expressways for hours.

At work, the water pipes
froze sometime over the weekend in my building.... can't wait till they thaw
and burst...It is going to be a mess.

I
have to tell you I watched the Chicago weather on WGN last night, and it
made
me feel like I was in the tropics here. You are a brave woman to live
there,
Donna. It was 54 here today, and it felt like summer!

currently *minus* 9 actual temp, supposed to warm
up to *plus* ten, and of
course, snow- predicting 2-4 inches... just
lovely...

   Same
here.
It was 6 degrees here last night and fiercely windy today.
It's 14
here
tonight but going down to the single digits. There is not any
relief
predicted for at least a week. We have had such low temps before,
but
usually
in late December or early January.Because of the very mild

temperatures
through December and early January, many things were
already
budding out. The
worst of it is that there is only about an inch
of snow
cover for insulation.
The days are getting longer and we are
supposed to
have some dimuinition of
the bitter cold.I guess this has
to be the
effects of global warming.
