Fruit Flies!! - Ants

Yellow sticky paper is what I have used. Works like a charm. And let the
plants get really dry before watering again. They like that wet soil. I
lost a plant one year to those pesky things.

Another problem I seem to get...ants that set up housekeeping in my
potted plants during the summer, and then move them inside for the
winter...when I water they come pouring out of the pot. And I thought I
had taken care of all that. But this last weekend...when winter is
almost OVER...I drenched and watered a plant that looked dry and out
come the ants. Ughhhh.

I think Kitty is right. Fungus gnats love our houses in the winter. I
suggest to customers that they out out traps to monitor the infestation and
to see if popualtions are going down.
Sticky traps work well, but so does something sweet like Coke, Apple
Vinegar, Red wine in saucers for drowning.
Let the plants dry out a little longer so that you do not give the gnats
what they need to breed
