Books

Not garden related but... Seems that many of you are avid book readers like I am so I ask a favor. Probably 20 or more years ago I read a book about a cardinal in a Catholic church or cathedral in New York who had an anthropologist friend. This friend came for a visit and brought along a box that he said contained the bones of Christ. During the visit the anthropologist died from a fall down stairs while in a diabetic seizure.
On a trip I accidently misplaced the book before I finished it. I no longer remember the title of the book but the subject has been on my mind for a long time. This is where the favor comes in. Does this subject sound familiar? Any ideas on the title or author would be greatly appreciated.
