son of a gun. sue's announcement reads like something some government spokesperson might have written--describing a reality that two or three degrees off straight. it is, of course, their loss, not ours.

It is with great regret that I must inform you that AHS has decided that we
can no longer host any list serves.

We offered the service hoping to deliver gardening information, answer
questions and give our members a forum through which they could converse
about gardening. Due to low participation, the program is not what we had
hoped it might be and we feel the significant resources required to host the
list serves can be better spent elsewhere, serving our entire membership
through programs and products that forward our mission and goals in a more
direct manner.

We know some of you will greatly miss the email discussions and we want to
thank you for participating. We encourage you to take advantage of one of
the many free list serve services available. Please stay together and start
your own discussion group! We'll continue our service until February 3 to
facilitate this process.

AHS members can continue, of course, to contact our Gardener's Information
Service at 800-777-7931, ext 131 or at gis@ahs.org with their gardening

If you are not already an AHS member, join now and the exchange of gardening
information can still continue through our many programs. To view benefits
and to join, please visit our website at
http://www.ahs.org/membership/index.htm or you may call us at 800-777-7931,
ext 127.

Thank you for your patience these last few months as we tried to make things
work. I hope you find a list serve that allows you to continue to chat as a
