I have one of those. Works great, but I have found that if the deck railing is as close to the house as mine is, that you get only those birds, such as house finches, that are comfortable coming that close to human habitation. Of course, a confounding variable is that we do have other year round water sources in our yard!

Good idea, Kitty, but not practical here, I fear. If I ever get this deck rail mount bird bath I was given some years ago mounted, then a heater would work. One of these years.
