Yeah--or one could go through life with a horrible nickname just because
of an incident in childhood...one of my husband's uncles was forever
after known as "Crappy Joe" from the time he was eight years old until
he died in his late 80's--this was truly what people called him by name,
to his face, and it is how he is still referred to in family history
today...no lie! Or my father in law who blew most of his left hand off
with a stolen dynamite cap at age nine has been ever since called
"Stub"...many people who know him don't even know his real first name!

Actually, I can think of a myriad of things that are male specific. I won't
enlighten this group with them though. Suffice it to say the "b" word is
not the only gender specific derogatory remark.
Interesting what this gardening group brings up for topics. I'm enjoying it
but must say it's different.
For my two cents a name is just a name. It's what's in the heart that
matters. The ugliest name in the world can be attached to the most
beautiful person (inside) and that makes the name equally beautiful.
