I hadn't considered it that way. I think he was more afraid that I would die
if I received another vaccine after a known bad reaction. It was before the
current age of mega lawsuits.
And it was more than the swollen arm that Claire had, though I had that
also. It was a raging fever that lasted for more than a week. I remember
the surreal feeling of being in and out of consciousness, even now, 40
years+ later.
He also thought that the previous inoculations, plus the booster that gave
me the reaction, were probably more than enough to maintain immunity.
If things have changed regarding the probable length of immunity, perhaps I
should visit a doctor again. Or not.
