My camellia is growing in the line of understory shrubs out back (w/
viburnums, mahonias and a beautyberry). Hey - what about a mahonia -
they love shade. I have a mahonia aquifolia-sp? (Oregon grape holly) and
a mahonia bealei (leatherleaf). And they are both pretty close to
hackberry trees.
And birdies love them!
