I have naturally curly hair....very curly. SO I measure the humidity
by
that. As a child we had a layover in Charleston S.C. my hair
instantly frizzed to
an afro, it was awful, you couldn't breath, etc. I have never had
anything
like that here in Houston. There are some days that my hair does
curl a bit
more than I'd like, but on avg.for most of the year I can keep it
manageable,
which to me means that we're not as humid as one thinks. I also
live on the
west side which is much less humid than far east Tx. (east Houston
through
Beaumont to Louisianna, etc.) Also on the beach in Galveston, etc. I
notice it
much more too. My dh, who is from Florida and goes back often, says
it is less
humid here. I don't know.
True it is more humid here than the rest of Texas...which is
unusually dry,
but I don't feel it much except in the hottest time of the summer, or
right
after rains.
I guess one gets used to things, and my plants love it, so as long as
my hair
stays okay, I'm fine with it. LOL

Must be nice to never (or hardly ever) see freezing.
But that humidity y'all have down there - ugh. I was only in Houston
once - many years ago - a business trip for Merrill Lynch in late
October. Thought I was going to croak w/ that humidity. Can't imagine
what it's like in the summer. Think DC and worse all you East Coast
folks. Talk about bad hair days!!
