Sorry, Kitty, I have no idea. Like Andrea my ferns just die back in the winter. Yesterday I bought a big bag of potting soil for house plants that need dividing. Hope I get them done before it's time to start working outside again in March.

I've never had Foxtail Fern before. I got a couple marked down where they
were overstocked, but still early enough last season to plant and enjoy.
They seemed so vigorous, I potted one whole and divided the other to take
in. They are still sending out new fronds that get long and lanky because
my lighting isn't sufficient. Outdoor growth had been so nice and uniform.
Any suggestions as to what to do with them in spring? Should I cut them
back, trim them up, anything?
Kitty

I'm fortunate in that I don't have to bring my foxtail in. It dies back, but then is fine if I remember to water it. It may be just because it's indoors and will be fine once spring gets here.
