Here in the Hudson Valley, New York, we have a lot of downy
woodpeckers - the flock grows each year. I sometimes can
see five or six at one time from my kitchen window. We have
one pair of red-bellies which produce young each year, but
by winter there just seems to be the one pair. I guess they
run the young ones off as soon as they are old enough. We
also have Hairys, but maybe only one pair. It's sometimes
difficult to tell them from the downies.
Other year-round birds are nuthatches, titmice, chickadees,
Northern Cardinals, blue jays, doves, a pair of white-throat
sparrows, Carolina wrens, goldfinches, and either purple
or house finches - I have never been sure which. This time
of the year we have a large flock of juncos, and unfortunately
another large flock of starlings. I have had to stop putting
out the peanut butter-oatmeal-sunflower cakes I make for
the woodpeckers. The starlings will finish a cake off in a
couple of hours - it usually lasts the other birds two or three
days. I have substituted a purchased suet cake which
they don't like nearly as well - but will eat.

We've had birds galore here, including 5 Pine Siskins that haven't been here
in several years. We have both Downy and Red-Bellied Woodpeckers as regular
visitors. Every now and then we get a Red-Headed or Pileated. Haven't seen a
Hairy in years. What woodpeckers do you have?
