That would just about drive me nuts. There's no reason why the "person in charge" should not know to whom specific e-mails should apply. Obviously I have a real hangup with what I perceive to be incompetence in any area. I think it's my age showing. <LOL>

No, no. There are groups set up. One of the groups, of course, is everyone. And if you've really, really got an important message that just has to reach all effected [and you're not quite sure who they are], that's the group you choose.

The real problem, I suppose, is everyone has different priorities
associated with their positions. So while conference room scheduling
may be WWIII important to the person in charge of that, the plumbing
technicians could care less. What we need is some kind of "need to
know" policy for sending e-mails in the first place. Of 150 employees,
maybe 10 need to be reminded about scheduling conference rooms; maybe
three need to know about a change in the price of PVC pipe. I am not  in
either of those select groups.

middle of what you are doing? If so, surely you can modify that to

notification on your toolbar or some such thing.

We don't have IMs at work, but we do have new mail

notification--and

it's only different in degree. And I really like it. I really

enjoy

being on deadline and having some moron interrupt what I'm  trying

with some sort of trivia about scheduling conference rooms or

hired yet another day laborer. I may, one day soon, go postal when
I

get the next notification that PVC pipe has gone up 0.002  percent

and

prices are being adjusted accordingly.
