Libby - it was four years before my doublefile bloomed, only 2 years for
the arrowoods (1 regular, one miniature 'Blue Muffin'). The blackhaw
(this will be the 5th year) and the Winterthur (will be the 3rd year)
haven't yet, but I'm hopeful.

Just wanted to say what an interesting Viburnum discussion this has been
- I learned a lot and will be rereading the reference you found, Kitty.
I am interested in the berries for the birds as much as the flowers for
me, so it looks like I do need a few more of a different, or several
different, variety(ies), and a couple years for these little ones to
grow, too!
Thanks

sounds like a great way to cope and would make adelightful plant, Ceres.
However, for me the V carlesii wasn't just too wide, it was also taller
than planned for. They were supposed to stay below the redbuds in a long
area only 3-4 ft wide. Just a poor choice on my part.
