Ceres, flotsam is just a name for "stuff" that floats around. Normally associated with jetsom...flotsam and jetsom.

I live about 10 minutes away from my greenhouses but in terms of the waters it might as well be the other side of the world. The gh's have a small creek within just a couple of feet behind them and that creek runs into the Russian River about 1 mile away. The creek fills up and races down stream and then the vineyard you see fills and what would normally go into that creek backs up and comes flowing over the road. In this case thigh high.

A woman and her kids live there and she is my landlady. You can see a big shed/garage in one of the pics and that guy sells slightly used Subarus and it's his stuff that mainly washed against the gh's.
