Kitty,
I think older folks DO worry about their animals. When my Boyfriend,
Greg's, mother was still live, she had 2 cats(abandoned kittens to start
with) and two dogs. I swear these animals kept her going on a daily bases,
even when her depression kicked in or when her heart was giving her
problems. WHen I was visiting her, which turned out to be two weeks before
she passed away, she asked if there was anything in then house that I would
like to have. ABout that time, the cats were knocking at the door to get in
after their evening outing. I looked at her and said that I wanted the cats.
I thought she was going to cry. She had been afraid to say anything to any
of the family about the animals, and was truly relieved that I wanted to
take the cats. Another son took the dogs after hearing that I wanted the
cats.
