Beats me. I tend to judge negative product advertising the way I judge negative political advertising. Fear mongering is usually the point of both. If the fear being mongered seems like a reasonable concern, it goes in the equation; if it doesn't, it goes into the trash. I have not read GA's claim--"other companies" being suspiciously vague--but it seems to be the trash barrel kind.

I was rather surprised by GA's claim that: "Up to 20% of the lady beetles shipped by other companies are parasitized. So, not only will their lady beetles die shortly after you receive them, but they'll also release parasitoids that will kill any lady beetles previously in your garden." Doesn't that seem illegal? Surely there is some place that sells less than thousands at a time. zem ----- Original Message ----- From: "james singer" <islandjim1@verizon.net> To: "Garden Chat" <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Thursday, January 19, 2006 8:08 AM Subject: [CHAT] LadybugsAnyone know a good place to get ladybugs? Peaceful Valley has them,
but
the smallest order is 1 quart [that's 18,000 bugs!]--a tad more than I
need.
