Pam, it isn't just hairballs. As my sister's vet told her, "Some cats just
like to throw up." I have a couple like that.

That was funny. Keep the kitties wheat grass, no hairballs! Sugar
rarely
throws up and when she does, it's usually a bug.

Did you see Shrek 2, where Puss in Boots hacks up a hairball? I laughed
so
hard I thought I'd pass out.

See, cats don't chew up rugs
They just throw up on them.

I suspect my husband would really pitch a fit if I went out
deliberately
looking for a third cat. Having one fall in your lap, as it were, is
one
thing, but heading for the shelter is something different. I think he
has
a
mental set-point: one cat not enough, two cats good, three cats too
many.
Dogs too for that matter, although once he made an offhand comment
that
we
could adopt another rottweiler which would have been 3 dogs. At the
time
our
new rottie Trixie was busy eating my area rug, so I ignored it.

Yes, my sister had him put down. She was upset too.

Well...worse things happen and it would not have
been easy integrating him

Cyndi, so sorry to hear that. I do agree it's not
prudent to try to save
him. Many other cats deserve a chance. You will at
least have him put to
sleep won't you?

Well I am not going to be taking in the stray
kitty. I mentioned he had
big
lumps on his head that concerned me. My sister
went down to the house the
other day and said the lumps had really increased
in size suddenly, and he
was scratching himself raw. The vet did tests and
concluded it was
probably
lymph node cancer. Poor cat. My sister and I are
not known for our
parsimony
concerning animal vet bills but cancer treatments
for a stray, especially
when so far advanced, was a little beyond the
call.
