The thorns are quite formidable, but easy to avoid. It's not really as bad as most real cactuses.

I just posted to Dave's Garden a picture of blooms on our Euphorbia
pseudocactus. I think its a reasonably good picture; the blooms are
about 3/16-inch in diameter.
