At our house corned beef goes with complimentary foods and cabbage isn't considered very complimentary. Favorite accompaniments that come to mind are rye bread, garlic cheese bread, parslied new potatoes - guess we're a little heavy on the starch.

Sure there is.  You can eat the sauerkraut while I eat the
corned beef and
we can pretend we're sharing the meal.  Hopefully I wont be
able to smell
the kraut from your end of the table, being in Florida after
all.
