Cyndi, you read my mind. I haven't been able to justify buying avocados at Costco, since no one else here like them. But if I can freeze some guacamole ! I still have several days vacation, maybe I can hang onto the taste of Mexico, even tho I had to leave the warm weather for our current 10F & snow. Coldest it's been here all winter. It started with a snow storm as we left on the 4th. Found out they closed the road within minutes after we passed several wrecks. Sounds like it was a spectacular cold front. It got down to 0F here & minus teens in Spokane, WA while we were gone. I was sweating waiting for the taxi in Mazatlan yesterday afternoon & just before midnight freezing at the Spokane airport. 3F. I'll take the warm any day. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Johnson Cyndi D Civ 95 CG/SCSRT" <cyndi.johnson@edwards.af.mil>

Very nice. I may have to try it if I ever have an excess of avocados. Actually, maybe I'll buy an extra bag of them at Costco and try it anyway, just in case I need guacamole in a hurry one day. I did. I added chopped jalapenos and lemon juice to it and froze it in 1-cup containers. Cyndi, among others, said she wanted to know how it turned out. I thawed the first cup this evening. Terrific. Tastes [and looks] as good a fresh. We are dipping into it with pita. We still have 4 cups frozen. If I remember, I'll defrost them, one by one, between now and when the next crop becomes available [the tree is budding up; in this strange weather, it will be blooming by mid February and fruiting by late May].
