Re: Horticulture question

Auralie,
I have one of these that I kept in a container water garden the first year then overwintered it in a greenhouse... the next year I didn't pay much attention to it and it is back in the greenhouse again this winter. I don't think it is easy to kill..... or it would be dead by now from neglect. I love the twisted stems. I thought it was interesting in a container water garden. I plan to do that again.

I tried to grow one of these in my lathhouse, Auralie. I planted it in a hanging basket under a mister. It lasted about 8 months. Too hot, maybe; I don't know. Interesting looking, though.

Today one of my garden club embers showed ua a plant she had received
from somewhere and asked for information on its culture. None of us had
a clue, and we're a fairly knowledgeable group. It is Juncus spirales, and she was told it was a bog plant but she thought it could be grown in a pot if it were kept very moist. The plant appears to be a mass of twisted spikes about 8-10inches long, but maybe it grows larger in nature. Can any of you
give me any information to help her?
