I would have loved to have seen Oberman's show but I don't have regular cable. Some laugh tracks are lower key than others - usually on better comedies because they're good enough to stand on their own. However, there are so few out there anymore it seems. Anything in the 8 to 10pm timeslot is usually game shows, reality shows, funniest? videos. There are a few dramas here and there, but it is slim pickin's on Limited Cable.

While I love comedies, I just abhor laugh tracks! Consequently, I do not watch comedies on TV. My feeling is, if things are truly funny I won't have to be prompted to laugh. BTW, did any of you all catch Keith Oberman's "News of the Weird for 2007?" I was laughing so hard I nearly fell out of the chair -- all without the hated laugh track. :o)

It's ok. I think I've seen 2 or 3 of them. I guess I could check in every 1/2 hr to see if they are showing one I haven't seen. I think the problem is that the network has pushed the sitcom so hard with constant commercials showing bits and pieces of each upcoming show that by the time it actually airs, I feel I've already seen it. So what's the point? Also, I get the impression that Applegate has been groomed to follow in the steps of Jenna Elfman, and so far I don't think she measures up.

I definitely hear you with regard to your sports woes -- my husband is a
huge baseball fan and general fan of sports in general.  I've learned to
deal with it and entertain myself (usually on the computer).

Last Sunday I checked the paper's guide and saw that 'Good Night & Good
Luck' would be airing Sat night-tonight. Wow, I would really look forward to seeing that one. On Monday I read about some sports people complaining 
that a football game was not going to be aired on ESPN or anywhere else
without having to pay extra.  So guess what the solution was?  They are
airing it on BOTH, both mind you!, CBS and NBC. What could possibly be a 
good reason for that?????
So now I can watch 4 consecutive episodes of Samantha Who or ET, some old 
PBS shows, or Cheaters.
I guess I'll work on my MG nursery book instead.
