I, too, am rejoicing in my orchids this winter. Have no idea what I did, but I have two cattleyas (one large white and purple, one red miniature), my Ludisia has 8 bloom spikes, my Paphiopedilum (bloomless the past two years) has 3 buds, and two of my cattleya hybrids have significant buds as well.

Our three kitchen window-sill orchids are budding up to greet the new year in grand fashion. Between them--so far--we have four bloom spikes [or whatever they're called], one purple, one white, and two yellow. As long as they last, we ought to have flowers until late spring.Inland Jim Willamette Valley 44.99 N 123.04 W Elevation 148' 39.9" Precipitation Hardiness Zone 8/9 Heat Zone 5 Sunset Zone 6 Minimum 0 F [-15 C] Maximum 102 F [39 C] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
