Oh, Daryl, I'm so sorry for your loss.  I know words don't always lift the
burden, but Dreyfuss was so fortunate to spend his last years in your caring
hands.

You know about our long struggle to restore Dreyfuss to health after the
poisoned pet food episode a couple of years ago. We lost the battle and had
to have him put to sleep this morning.

He was such a good dog. Even though he was 11 when we adopted him and he
came into a strange house, with strange critters (chickens, then cats), he
was a mellow soul.
