RE: Cameras

Lynda,
II swear by Canon. Have for many, many, years now. Much less
expensive than Nikon, same quality. My choice was to purchase the Canon
Rebel, then put big bucks into the lens you want/need. Basically, three...
super good wide angle or zoom in that range, a macro (I choose 100mm) for
plant portraits, then good telephoto.
And, of course, image stabilization either through a good tripod
and/or feature build into camera body/lens.

For hubby's birthday we've been looking at digital SLRs. He seems to be
favoring the Nikon D300 with the Canon 50D close behind and I was wondering
if any of you landscape photographers are using either of these? After
years of digital point and shoot cameras, we're looking forward to a little
more proactive photography.
