I had read about freezing credit and intended to do so it but never got around to it. Now might be the time to look into that. I found the info online at:

BoA fraud person told me that it was a safeguard to keep the perps
from applying for credit by using my information. Maybe it doesn't
matter, but it seemed like a good idea.

I was almost stung a couple of times similar to that. It's such a
pain
when it happens. Now I check my credit card transactions daily
[also a
pain, but...] so I can stop any rogue sales from going through. I
assume you've reported it to your CC bank, but have you filed a fraud
alert with the scoundrels at the credit bureaus? Your bank's CC fraud
unit should give you their number.

will though because their purchase was made 10 days ago.  If they
