I had a torn tenor in my ankle in spring 2013, wore a boot for 4 months with no heal followed by a permanent brace. 2014 had a Anthrodesis (triple fusion) and am left with the inability to care for my garden as I had in the past. I still work at the greenhouse in the spring as a container designer and plan to do so in 2016.

December 2012 we lost our youngest son which has been a difficult time adjusting. Don't remember if I ever shared we had lost our oldest son in 1969 but we do have a daughter who has blessed us with 2 beautiful granddaughters. The oldest just received her master's degree from Denver University Iliff and has her own grant writing business and the younger one is a kindredgarten teacher in the Des Moines system and working on her masters at Drake.

 I am in Springfield, Missouri- but not for much longer.  My husband and I have made the decision that I am going to head back to California while he is applying for a new position elsewhere (afterwhich I will find a job in the new location and move wherever to join him). We are looking on West coast and East coast.  The middle of the country is officially off of my list. Forever.  I am very excited to be moving back to live with a diversity of people, but it will be hard being separated for a while.  We are hoping it will be 6-12 months at the most.  In the meantime, weather here has been crazy.  It was 70 a week ago, then we got 7 inches of rain in 2 days, and now we are in the 20-30's.  I still have brocolli, arugula and kale in the gardenbed next to the house.  It is definitely frosted, but still alive.  Need to go pick and eat it this weekend.  I was given a birdbath heater for Xmas, which works fantastic in my fountain- no ice and the whole fountain can still run : )  Have been enjoying watching all the birds at my feeders too.  Wishing all a bright and rewarding 2016 with plenty of gardening success.

I thought it would be good on this last day of the year if everyone could check in and let us all know how you are doing.  

I am in Gainesville, Ga.  We moved here to be closer to our daughter and 2 of our granddaughters.  We are renting a VRBO on Lake Lanier, beautiful place to live but we can’t stay after June.  It gets to expensive!  Any advice on where we should go next?  My husband just has to live near an airport so he can fly out every week.  Atlanta has been great but traffic to the airport is more than he wants again.  We have been thinking around Bastrop, Texas and he could fly out of Austin.  Any advice on that one?  We have lived in Houston and was great being near my sister and brother but the traffic to the airports was hard on Don.  I would love your advice, there are so many great places to live!
