RE: Persicaria

In march a local nursery had a flower show where they had numerous
indoor garden. Afterwards they sold many of the plants that were forced
at greatly reduced prices. I picked up a white variety of persicaria
polymorpha. It grew about four feet tall with delicate white candelabra
flowers. I bought it for three dollars and tried to keep it alive!
Well, it 's finally showing vigorous new growth from the base and I will
plant it in my white garden. Anyone grow this one?

Dan,
Have not grown it, but...
If you have any trouble finding info on it, Persicaria affinis is now
Polygonum affine. The photos I've seen are beautiful, but on one site I
saw
an interesting way to describe invasive:
"For sunless spaces, fast growing. Ground-cover plant. Does not tolerate
other plants well."
