There was discussion some time ago about the lack of diversity among bananas, how growers had bred diversity out of them, and that they had become an endangered species--subject to various diseases.

To this I wish to add--from another list--that an Icelandic scientist [go figure] on expedition in Micronesia has found and classified 14 new species of Musa.
